If you read my post about the running challenge that Pablo and I had earlier this year, you would know that I will be gifted with make-up as my reward if I will be able to run 5k continuously, without any walking break or whatsoever. And because this girl is decided to have her make-up, and because she does treat challenges as a definite win for her (hashtag competitive π), we closed the deal on our second run. π
(Side note: After winning the challenge, we only went back to running just yesterday, because Pablo invited me to join him in their company’s fun run, which is the #RunAndRock2019. Life’s busyness is just too real these past few months. Plus the “tito” and “tita” in us love to enjoy our Friday dinner dates to cap the work days. π But no more excuses, I promise! We will be back on the track soon. Definitely missed the runner’s high.)
Going back…
So when I got the go-signal to purchase what I want last March, I checked out the items in my Sephora and BeautyMNL carts. I will not disclose the prices of the products, and while I mentioned previously that I will not select drugstore products, I still did to balance things out. Hahaha! Here are the items I purchased.
These babies are from Make Up For Ever and Becca. I got these from Sephora Philippines. (L-R) I have been eyeing this Make Up For Ever Mattifying Primer for the longest time, and been very eager to check out this Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Skin Full Coverage Foundation, because of the positive reviews. And while I do not know my exact shade, I just went on in purchasing the lightest shade, which is the R230 Ivory shade, then hoped and prayed that it will match my skin tone, and luckily it did! The third item on the picture is the Becca Beach Tint in Dragonfruit, and the last one is still from Becca, the Glow on the Go Kit. I was inspired by one of my favorite influencers, Kryz Uy, to try these out.
The primer is really mattifying upon application. Though I cannot say that it can really keep your face oil-free for long hours. I tried it with the matte velvet foundation, and my face felt very dry. Maybe because I tried to put on both after swimming on the beach. But ever since that drying feeling, I only try to either wear the primer with other powder or foundation, or the matte velvet foundation only.
The beach tint is my most adored product among the four! The shade is on point, application is on point, it is long lasting, and you would need a tiny amount only to keep you looking flushed.
The highlighter is also good. It will keep you looking dewy and fresh, especially if you use a mattifying base.
These, on the other hand, are the babies I got from BeautyMNL. I got the Sunnies Face Fluffmate in Milkshake, Coty Airspun Loose Powder in Translucent Extra Coverage, and Sunnies Face Lifebrow Skinny Pencil and Brow Gel both in Ash Brown.
I now understand the craze for the Fluffmate, because it really feels powdery soft on the lips. It glides easily when applied. Though it is not long lasting.

Coty Airspun has been my go-to powder during lazy, no-make up look days, and my favorite setting powder. It can get a bit messy to get the powder out from the tub, and it has a smell that is reminiscent of the typical powders our grandmothers use in the 90s.

Lifebrow is also a favorite, even if I seldom put on eyebrow products lately. The skinny pencil makes it easier to draw hair-like strands on the sparse areas of the brow, and the brow mascara gives off enough tint on the strands, and can hold the brow in place for hours.
While I am already happy with my purchase, these products made me even happier. I got these four freebies when I checked out my Sephora cart – a Sephora pink eye mask, tester of Tata Harper regenerating cleanser, Nudestix magnetic matte lip color in Rose, and Benefit Cosmetics They’re Real Mascara in Black.
And now that I am reminded of these babies, I should now be more diligent in running with my running buddy to make him feel better after his loss (pun intended). π
